Fuquay-Varina - Charles Sears passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 and now he is in his Heavenly home. Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 5:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, Fuquay-Varina. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Burial following at the Cokesbury Church Cemetery.
He was born at home in Harnett County to Vera and John Sears on May 26, 1947. He graduated from Lafayette High School in Harnett County and he graduated from Campbell University. He taught the seventh grade at Corinth Holders School in Wendell, North Carolina and after teaching for several years went to work at Georgia Pacific in Raleigh as an outside salesman in the lumber department and in 1980 went to work for Carolina Builders. He then went to work for Independent Builders Supply Association in Smithfield until he retired in 2013.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Vera and John Sears.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lee Sears; children, Amy Adams and husband, Chad and Keith Charles Sears and wife, Melissa; two brothers, Ricky and Ray Sears; and four grandchildren, Caden Adams, Leah Adams, Colton Jay Sears, and Chase Lindy Sears.
Charles loved baseball and had the opportunity to visit Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame and he loved the Blue Ridge Parkway.
