Alexis McLeod was born October 17, 1998 and on January 26, 2018 after a long fight from a car accident on September 5, 2017, she succumbed to her injuries.
Alexis was a beautiful, intelligent and energetic young lady. She enjoyed many extra curricular activities such as volleyball, drama and chorus. Alexis was blessed with a beautiful voice and a precious spirit. She was loved by her family and friends but as much as she was loved, she loved even harder. Many of her friends describe her as an inspiration.
Alexis is survived by her mother, Shanon Matthews and brother, Ethan Carroll both of the home (Angier); her father, Danny McLeod (Garner); maternal grandparents, Danny and Debbie Matthews (Willow Spring); paternal grandparents, Roger and Rhonda Earley (Raleigh) and Tommy and Wendy McLeod (Missouri); paternal great grandmother, Virginia Poole (Raleigh); and many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Alexis’s family will be receiving family and friends at her home, 514 Rawls Church Road, Angier until the scheduled wake on Monday, January 29 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Fuquay-Varina. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

What a beautiful young lady, Miss McLeod was. Please allow me to offer my condolences her family, by sharing a scriptural hope. "So they came to the house of the presiding officer of the synagogue, and he saw the commotion and those weeping and wailing loudly. After stepping in, he [Jesus] said to them: “Why are you weeping and causing this commotion? The child has not died but is sleeping.” At this they began to laugh at him scornfully. But after sending them all outside, he took the child’s father and mother and those with him, and he went in where the child was. Then, taking the hand of the child, he said to her: ...“Little girl, I say to you, ‘Get up!’” And immediately the girl rose and began walking. And at once they were beside themselves with great ecstasy." (Mark 5: 38-42) By using his God-given powers, Jesus will show that people can be brought back from death as easily as they can be awakened from a deep sleep. (John 5:25) This is the hope for, Alexis, as well. This hope is for you too! I am very sorry for the loss of your precious daughter. May God's Word comfort you and your family. Sincerely, Meryl, jw.org - email@example.com
