Obituary
Fuquay-Varina – Susan Diane Foster, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel 401 N. Ennis St Fuquay-Varina. Family will receive friends following the service.
A native of Holly Springs, NC and scrappy fighter her entire life, she spent 35 years as an ER, Oncology and private-practice Nurse (RN, OCN) in Raleigh, NC. Susan helped found Raleigh Community Hospital and spent many years as a Hospice nurse helping terminally-ill people find comfort in their last days.
She was preceded in death by her parents Philip and Katie Ragan; and her birth mother, Cornell H. Phillips.
Susan is survived by her two sons, William Foster and wife, Maria of Dublin, Ireland and Wade Foster of Fuquay-Varina, NC; sister, Phyllis Perry and husband, John of Wake Forest, NC.
