Fuquay-Varina – Elgevia (Aunt Gee), God’s little angel has gone home at age 99, on Friday, September 15, 2017.

Elgevia was born in Raleigh, NC to the late, William and Tenutha O’Daniel (lovingly called Ma and Pa). She was also preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Frank Allen Spikes; and her five siblings, Clyde, Irene, Elizabeth, Edith, and George.

She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Ida J. Ashworth.

Eligevia graduated from Knightdale High School in 1937.

She was a devoted and loving wife to Frank (who she called Sugar). They were married June 29, 1940 and had a long and happy life together. They had no children of their own, but had many children she cared for and loved over the years. She was like a second mother to Ida, Henry, Betsy Marie, Gail, Jackie, Jamie, Anisia and Robert.
