Fuquay-Varina – Jarvis Harold Vaughan, age 86, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 05, 2017 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Baptist Grove Baptist Church, 6140 Christian Light Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC. Following the service the interment will be at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Jarvis was preceded in death by his brothers, Junior and Sam Vaughan; and grandchildren, Ryhan and Keith Lee.
He proudly served his country in the US Army. He worked many years for Thurston Motors, Classic Lighting, and served the community through Thomas Funeral Home as a funeral director. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Jarvis is survived by his wife of 31 years, Vivian Goldsberry Vaughan; children, Harold Vaughan and wife, Susan of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Karen Starr and husband, Joe of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Debbie Lee Barbour of Fuquay-Varina, NC, David Lee of Madison, IN, Kenneth Lockridge of IN, and Michael Lockridge and wife, Carolyn of Raleigh, NC; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his dog and best friend, “Shadow Man”.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC.

Papa Jarvis will be missed. He always had a smile on even when be was in pain. Papa Jarvis loved all his great grand kids & great Great Grandkids. All the grand kids loved riding his Scooter Wheelchair. Papa Jarvis we miss & love you.
