Bradford A. Mackey died on April 20th 2017 at his home in Fuquay-Varina after a long illness. He was born to Armas and Dorothy Mackey on September 26th 1947, a proud son of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He moved his family to North Carolina in 1981, then traveled the world looking for business opportunities, history, and beauty.
His loss is mourned by his wife of more than fifty years, Sharon Mackey and his two children Lana Frame and Curt Mackey. He will no longer be able to give counsel, instruction, and advice to his two grandchildren Holly and Sara, his sisters, his daughter-in-law Jenny, his son-in-law Donnie, his many nieces and nephews, nor his huge circle of friends and admirers. We will all reach for memory of his wisdom and expertise in times of trouble and need.
A man for all seasons, Brad was a road warrior salesman, a mechanic, an electrician, and a plumber. He was a racecar driver, guitar player, a mathematician, a genius-level common-sense dispenser, and the go-to guy for all who needed help. Brad tried to fix the world with a voltmeter, a ratchet set, a slide rule and his huge, generous heart. And in most cases, Brad succeeded.
Those of you who did not get a chance to meet him missed out. Those of us who did are weeping.
His family will be holding a celebration of this great man’s life in Fuquay next week. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you make a donation to Transitions LifeCare (founded as Hospice of Wake County in 1979) in Brad’s name.

Celebrating the life of Bradford A. Mackey
Thank you for signing Bradford A. Mackey's Guestbook
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. There is a very comforting scripture found at Isaiah 25:8. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can look forward to a time when death will be done away with forever. I hope that this scripture can bring some comfort during this time.

I am so sorry to read this. It is a small world. I know Lana. She and my childhood friend Melissa Jones were best friends. Lana came to my wedding. Thinking of all of you. May God see you through the days ahead.
